Emergency First Aid & CPR
Basic one-day course offering an overview of first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for the workplace or home. Includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. Meets OHS regulations for Basic First Aid. Exceeds competitors’ standards by including injury prevention content, CPR and AED.
Duration: 6.5 - 8 hours dependent on province
Pre-Requisite: None
Certification: 3-year certification in Emergency First Aid, CPR Level A, C or HCP, and AED

Standard First Aid & CPR
Comprehensive two-day course offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home. Includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines. Meets federal and a variety of provincial/territorial regulations for Standard First Aid and CPR. Exceeds competitors’ standards by including injury prevention content, CPR and AED.
Duration: 14-16 hours
Pre-Requisite: None
Certification: 3-year certification in Standard First Aid, CPR Level A, C or HCP, and AED
Cost: Full Certification: $160.00 + HST
Re-Certification: $110.00 + HST

First Responder
Pre-hospital care and CPR skills for professional first responders or those wanting to become first responders. Course teaches techniques for sustaining life, preventing further injuries, and caring for illnesses and injuries until the next level of medical personnel arrives. Includes CPR level HCP and AED & BLS. SportSide Medical recognizes that an EFR certification is the minimum standard for field Athletic Therapists and sideline medical personnel. As such, this course places a strong emphasis on sports related medical emergencies and sideline/rink side medical care. This course is strongly recommended for any trainer or therapist wishing to work with sports teams.
Duration: 40 hours (full) 20 hours (recert)
Pre-Requisite: previous First Responder (recert)
Certification: 3-year certification in First Responder, CPR Level HCP, and AED

Athletic Taping
This hands-on course provides students with knowledge and practical application of clinical taping skills and taping for athletes and athletic injuries. Students will learn various taping concepts from clinical diagnostic taping (ie. McKenzie protocol taping for disc herniation or sciatica patients), functional taping for a variety of conditions (ie. KinTape, Spider Tape, Rock Tape) and traditional athletic taping for sport injuries. Traditional athletic taping methods include taping various muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints for added support during sport. This form of taping utilizes various forms of tape including zinc oxide tape (traditional white athletic tape), Hypafix (hypoallergenic dressing), Leukotape (rigid brown strapping tape), Elastikon (elastic cloth tape), Ultralight (lycra elastic adhesive tape) and many others. Athletic taping can help reduce and possibly prevent injury as it provides structured support and enhanced proprioceptive feedback to muscles, ligaments and joints.

Cancellation Policy
Please note that if you need to cancel your enrollment for any course this must be done in writing a minimum of 3 weeks prior to the beginning of the course. Participants who wish to cancel their enrollment will be reimbursed their fee minus an administration fee (varies based on course). Equipment and facility rental are booked based on initial numbers enrolled.
Payment Methods
Course payment is done through email money transfers and must be sent to info@sportsidemedical.com from any major financial institution with a pre-determined password included in the email body.
VISA or Mastercard payments must fill out Credit Card Authorization Form
All payments must be received in full a minimum of
2 weeks before the course date to secure your spot.
